Gazprom to buy all LNG from Golar LNG’s Cameroon export plant

Russian energy major Gazprom has signed an eight-year off-take agreement for all the liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Perenco Cameroon export plant, officials confirmed on Monday.

The news was first reported by Reuters last week.

The floating LNG terminal will be owned and operated by Norwegian group Golar LNG, which is converting one of its LNG tankers into a floating production unit, Reuters reported.

Gazprom Marketing and Trading Singapore (GM&TS) will take 1.2 MMtpy of LNG from the project, which is due to start production in 2017.

The deal enabled Cameroon's state oil firm SNH and Perenco Cameroon to announce the final investment decision (FID) for the project, Reuters reported.
