Hungary's MVM locks in capacity at Croatian LNG port from 2021

Hungary’s state-owned energy group MVM said that its unit MFGK Croatia has signed a deal to tie up capacity at the Krk liquefied natural gas LNG port in Croatia from January 2021 as part of Hungary’s plan to diversify its gas supplies.
MVM said in a statement that it aims to purchase up to 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year via the Krk LNG port for nearly 7 years beginning in 2021.
Looking for alternative sources, Budapest has said it is in talks with several world market players to buy LNG via the Croatian port once it becomes operational in 2021. (Reporting by Krisztina Than)
