Tokyo Gas agrees to buy 0.6 mtpa from LNG Canada project over 13 years

Tokyo Gas Co says it signed a heads of agreement with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corp to buy up to eight cargoes or about 0.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from LNG Canada project over 13 years starting April 2026.

Tokyo Gas will buy on ex-ship basis with destination flexibility, it said in a statement.
Royal Dutch Shell, Mitsubishi and other partners gave a green light on the mega Canadian project last week.
