Russian gas pipeline designed to feed into Nord Stream 2 project catches fire

MOSCOW, (Reuters) - The Russian domestic pipeline Ukhta-Torzhok-2, designed to pump gas into the projected Nord Stream 2 undersea gas pipeline to Germany, caught fire and was halted, Russia’s energy ministry said.
The fire was reported in the northern Arkhangelsk region at 2035 (1735 GMT) and gas flows were redirected to a back-up line. The pipeline is expected to be fully completed next year.
The ministry said no one was hurt in the incident, while supplies of gas to consumers have not been reduced.
