GTT to design tanks of four Hudong Zhonghua LNG carriers
PARIS — GTT has received an order at the end of June from the Chinese Shipyard Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Corp. Ltd. The order concerns four LNG carriers which will be built on behalf of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (MOL). They will be equipped with the NO96-L03+ technology and will have a capacity of 174,000 m3 each. The delivery of the first vessel is scheduled in late 2019.
"We are very pleased to further strengthen our relations with our partner Hudong Zhonghua,” said Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT. “This is an extraordinary order, a very large and major shipbuilding project to which we are proud to contribute. In addition, the four vessels concerned will be equipped with the technology NO96-L03+, a success for the new GTT technologies recently developed."
The insulation system NO96-L03+ is an evolution of the NO96 technology which equips more than 200 vessels in the world. The configuration of the containment system NO96-L03+ guarantees a boil-off rate of 0.1% cargo volume per day.
