GTT to equip new LNG carrier from Hyundai Heavy Industries
PARIS — GTT has received an order from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to equip a new LNG carrier with its Mark III Flex containment system. Hyundai's shipyard based in Ulsan, South Korea will build the vessel of 180,000 m3 on behalf of the Norwegian shipping company NORSPAN LNG XII AS (Knutsen). Delivery is scheduled in 2019.

At present, the Knutsen fleet contains ten large scale LNG carriers in service and one on order. These LNG carriers are all equipped with GTT membrane containment systems. Mark III Flex, the technology adopted for this new LNG carrier, an evolution of the Mark range, allows a boil-off rate of 0.085%V/day.
"It is the second order of this type this year with the HHI shipyard and the shipowner Knutsen. It highlights the excellent relationship we have with these two key players of the maritime industry," said Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT.
