GTT receives order to equip new Hyundai Heavy Industries FSRU
PARIS -- GTT has received an order from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to equip a new floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) with its Mark III cryogenic membrane containment system. The vessel will be built at Hyundai's shipyard in Ulsan, on behalf of Höegh LNG Holdings Ltd. This FSRU will have a storage capacity of 170,000 m3. Delivery is scheduled in 2018.
"Thanks to its key partner HHI, GTT is very honoured to be part of the newbuilding program of one of the leading FSRU providers Höegh LNG," said Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT. "This new order illustrates the confidence of the offshore industry in our LNG storage technology and our capability to respond to its requirements."
Currently, four FSRUs built by HHI and equipped with the Mark III technology are in service. Mark III is a proven solution for new projects that require greater resistance to liquid motion, particularly for multigas applications or partially filled tanks such as FSRUs or FLNGs.
