Fire shuts down section of SOCAR gas pipeline
12/27/2016
On Dec. 27, a fire blazed up on 1,000-mm major gas pipeline between the gas processing plant and Sangachal units in Garadagh region of Baku.
“The gas was changed to alternative pipeline while firefighters were localizing the fire,” SOCAR said in a press release. “Necessary measures were taken for extinguishing the fire and eliminating gas supply problems.”
Repair work has already started on the pipeline. The Absheron region’s gas supply was restored via alternative pipeline. No casualties were reported.
