(Reuters) - China's biggest city gas supplier, the Beijing Gas group awarded French gas utility firm Engie a tender for purchasing 10 cargoes of LNG, the Chinese firm's chairwoman said.
The shipments, totaling 900 MMcm, will be delivered to China for peak heating season this coming winter, said Li Yalan, the chairwoman of the company in an interview with Reuters on Thursday.
The amount will be 6% of the company's total supply of 16 Bcm for this year, said Li.
The northern China winter season normally stretches between November to March.
