2/8/2016
State-run Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. is planning to start up a new floating LNG import terminal (FSRU) in the second half of 2016, according to industry sources quoted by news agency Reuters.
The floating terminal is being supplied by US-based gas shipping group Excelerate Energy, Reuters reported.
Both ADNOC and Excelerate did not respond to requests for comment.
Sources estimated the likely capacity of the import terminal at 1 MMtpy, according to the report.
The UAE is already importing LNG through a floating terminal supplied by Excelerate off the coast of Dubai.
