Gas demand cut for second day at Venture Global Calcasieu LNG plant
Gas flowing to Venture Global's Calcasieu Pass Plant in Louisiana (U.S.) was just over 750 MMft3 on Thursday, marking the second day demand from the facility has been well-below its usual 1.4 Bft3, data from financial firm LSEG showed.
On Wednesday, demand at the plant was around 700 MMft3.
The decline has contributed to an overall dip in U.S. feedgas demand to 15.8 Bft3 on Thursday, down from 15.9 Bft3 on Wednesday and > 16 Bft3 on Tuesday, the data showed.
Venture Global did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
The U.S. is the world's largest exporter of LNG and a key supplier of the superchilled fuel to Europe after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Cargoes from Calcasieu Pass are sold to some of the world's largest LNG companies including Shell, Repsol, Edison and bp.
There were also a small decline in feedgas demand at Cheniere's Sabine Pass export facility in Texas. Cheniere's Corpus Christi facility and Venture Global's Plaquemines plant, in Louisiana, posted small increases.
