ENVEA secures multi-million dollar contract for mercury measurement at Jafurah natural gas processing plant

ENVEA has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract in Saudi Arabia. The company is providing advanced mercury monitoring to the Jafurah Natural gas Processing Plant in Saudi Arabia, as part of the biggest shale gas project outside of the United States. This will be a crucial source of low-carbon fuel needed for the energy transition and the sustainable future. The deal demonstrates the growing role of ENVEA in the Middle East.

ENVEA will provide comprehensive multi-stream mercury monitoring solution for a new processing plant at Jafurah reserve, which potentially contains 200 trillion standard cubic feet (scf) of natural gas.

The solution will generate real-time insights of mercury concentration at each stage. This will help prevent corrosion by the toxic contaminant, optimizing production, protecting worker safety, and reducing the environmental impact.

Ryan Goater, Regional Director (META) says, “This is a significant project for ENVEA to be a part of. It showcases our ability and expertise in mercury monitoring, which is an increasingly important solution for the region’s energy companies. This is because it ensures the plant’s safety. The project also demonstrates our system design and integration expertise emphasising why we are a trusted brand for this type of work.”

ENVEA’s solution has been specially designed to maintain sample integrity as the measurement process is complex. This is because samples must be taken from a high-pressure pipeline, passed through several conditioning stages, and then analyzed at ambient pressure in a hazardous environment. Joint teams of expert engineers in the UK and Germany will oversee production of custom sampling and conditioning systems, which will work with 12 ultra-low-level VM3000 trace mercury analyzers.

Ryan Goater says, “ENVEA adds value because we are much more than a provider of solutions. We offer a turnkey service that captures everything customers need, creating a unique solution driven by requirement. And our 45-year history enhances our expertise.”
