Germany's Wilhelmshaven to get second LNG terminal with FSRU arriving Monday
4/25/2025
A regasification ship called Excelsior will arrive at Wilhelmshaven in north-west Germany at high tide on Monday, providing the site with its second import terminal for liquefied natural gas, the DET operator said.
Test operations are to take several weeks, a statement said, adding that the Excelsior will be able to feed up to 1.9 billion cubic metres of natural gas into the German gas grid this year after commissioning.
This would meet the energy consumption for heating around 1.5 million four-person households in apartment blocks.
