Europe set to receive second US LNG cargo from Sabine Pass plant
(Reuters) Europe is set to receive its second-ever LNG shipment from the US after a cargo set sail for Spain from Cheniere Energy's Sabine Pass export terminal in Louisiana.
The Royal Dutch Shell-controlled Sestao Knutsen vessel, with a carrying capacity of 138 Mcm, is due to arrive at Spain's El Ferrol import terminal on July 22, according to shipping data.
Cheniere started production from the US' first LNG export plant in February and has since loaded 15 shipments, excluding the Sestao Knutsen.
One of those, aboard the Creole Spirit, arrived in Europe at the Portuguese port of Sines in April.
The rest travelled as far afield as India and Dubai, Kuwait and Argentina, according to shipping data.
Output from the first production line at Sabine Pass, also known as a train, was purchased by BG Group, which was since acquired by Shell.
